Volunteer

As a Charitable Organization, Shades of Hope greatly values the gifts of time and talent that our Volunteers contribute. If you would like to offer your time and talent in the aid of helping injured and orphaned wildlife, please understand that this is a big commitment!

Regular ‘hands on’ help is needed to help with the day to day animal management. Volunteers will be required to sign up for regular ‘shifts’ on an ongoing basis. Responsibility and dependability are key. Please be aware that there is physical and dirty work involved! Cleaning cages and pens is a daily chore shared by all. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to apply.Volunteer at Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge

We are always looking for drivers to help transport animals when the rescuers cannot drive themselves. There is also a need for drivers to transfer animals to other facilities for specialized care.

Muscle and creativity are always an asset if you want to consider being a part of our maintenance team! Carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills are often needed as well.

We also offer a comprehensive Wildlife Internship Program. If you are seriously interested in a career working with wildlife, you may want to consider this program.
